    If you take out Ortiz, the Red Sox hit .168 in the World Series. He was the only Boston player who slugged over .333.

    If the Cardinals planned to not use Shelby Miller in the World Series, they apparently didn't tell him:

    Ortiz never played in the exhibition season. His performance was in many ways the most shocking one of the Sox in 2013. Lackey, his only rival there, pitched real well and had buzzard's luck, just as he did in Game Two of the Series.

    This is the kind of thing that can simmer and cause real problems later. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of a brief time in STL for Miller.
