    Wait, guy goes 8 2/3 perfect and gives up one hit and you don't even let him finish a shutout? That's just so lame. Quit babying the players.

    It's his first start of the year. There's absolutely nothing to be gained by leaving him in once he loses the perfect game.

    He had thrown over 100 pitches in his first start of the year.

    I'd have taken him out, too.

    I've wanted to do a book about this, tentatively called "27th Out'ch" or something to that effect.

    I'd list all of the guys who had a perfect game but lost it on the 27th batter. Interview the ones who are alive, interview the hitters who ruined the perfection, managers, etc. Maybe have a chapter with interviews of players who threw perfectos and get them to talk what it was like facing the 27th batter.
