Does VT have the facility to host or would they play I Salem or something?

Not sure I'd go that far, especially if N.C. State knocks off Carolina tonight. I'd say the ACC gets those two and that's it as regional sites.

    No UVa or Florida State?

Completely forgot about UVa being ranked second in RPI.

The ACC is the strongest conference. Pretty certain to get three national seeds (UVa,UNC, FSU/NCState) and at least five regional top seeds (FSU/NCState).

Unfortunately, FSU went from a national seed lock to hoping it gets credit for winning 2/3 at NC State couple weeks ago. Noles went 0-3 in ACC tourney, losing on 3 game winning homers (two walk off). Now we wait.

Tech's bid is to host in Blacksburg. FSU, NCSU, UNC and UVa are locks to host. Clemson was right there until going 0-3 in the tournament. Hokies probably slide into that slot.

Central Arkansas won the Southland Conference on Saturday.

I think this is the first year of eligibity as an NCAA D-1. An NAIA school just a few years back.

They may play Arkansas, if the Hogs host a regional.

Per RPI at least, the ACC is No. 1 and SEC No. 2 this year ... But are ridiculously strong leagues. Five of the top 11 teams in the country in RPI (UNC, UVA, FSU, NCSU, VT) are in the ACC.

Thanks, Cosmo. Surprised by Albert's response. Didn't realize it was even up for debate this season.

Time for the ACC to get eight regionals, five national seeds, and zero NCAA titles. The ACC, underachieving on the road to Omaha (and once they get there) every year since 1955. Mayhaps the best teams in the ACC should actually play each other in the regular season?

And by the way, the defending NCAA champion, from the Pacific-12 Conference, couldn't even finish in the top half and get an NCAA berth this year.
