2012 SJ.com college football poll -- LAST CALL FOR VOTES

As several PM's have informed me, it's time to put out the bat signal ... we need voters for the 2012 SportsJournalists.com college football poll!

With the BCS coming to a merciful end in a couple years, maybe this poll is on borrowed time, too. After all, I'm sure once the four-team playoff committee is up and running, there won't be controversy in college football anymore ... [/no blue font needed]

So if you ever wanted to have your say about which is the top team/conference/Honey Badger in the land, this is your chance.

Just PM me and maybe say a little bit about why you want to participate. We're not talking about deep thoughts here; "I'm a fan" works just fine.

I'll take volunteers for about a month, then announce who the poll committee is in early August. Voting deadline will be the same as previous seasons: noon Central time each Monday (of course, Sunday ballots work really well ... ).

Thanks to everyone who faithfully voted during the past couple years (and with slappy before that). New voters are always welcome.

I'd love to participate, but I'll be in Afghanistan this season and wouldn't be a very reliable voter.

Every year I fight myself over if I can work the poll into my schedule. With graduate school and the full-time job, it's going to be tough. However, with me now having every Sunday shift it's going to actually be easier to vote this year. Count me in if I am still welcome at the party.

So far, we've had about 14-15 people volunteer. Still plenty of room for more voters -- both veterans and newbies of SportsJournalists.com. It's good to have a mix of people all voting for SEC teams ...
