Heck of a ride by Tejay in the opening TT.

And today is born the first cycling superstar since Cav, as Peter Sagan wins his first TdF stage, in impressive style.

Cancellara was trying hard to get him to work, but he wouldn't do it. I've always said if I was in that situation, payback would be swift the next day on the road.

I'm glad to see Tejay doing well. The GC will likely come down to Wiggo and Cadel. I think Evans did more attacking in the last 10K today than he did all of last year.

Certainly was a he k of a finish. Thought Evans was going to go out in front with that las attack. Must've been a tough road with the uphill finish. Anyone see the cameraman that caused the crash when he got too close to the riders?

Not sure if he was a cameraman so much as a punter on the side of the road with his camera. But really, where the two crashes occurred, the parcours dropped from a wide boulevard down to a wide boulevard that only had 10 meters available, thanks to a combination of road furniture and spectators who were not properly reigned in. IMO, not a good day for the race organizers, ASO.

Sagan wins again. Crashy day today, I think there were six pileups.

Lots of folks banged up, according to Teh Twitters, but that's racing in France.

Sagan is going to start raising some eyebrows.

If I was one of the riders, I'd be pissed at the organizers for some of the routes they've chosen this year. The roads are waaay too narrow.
As a fan, I'll pat the organizers on the back because it's making for some entertaining racing.

Another day, another pile of cyclists. Farrar went looking for the person who started today's.

Bad day all around for Vaughters.

    Hate it for him.

This is one of the crashiest first weeks I can remember. The remaining Schleck's chances might have been ruined by one today.
