I'd say Rod Smith has an interesting case, if he wasn't sitting behind Chris Carter, Andre Reed and Tim Brown. With those three still out there, Smith won't get a sniff.

I'm guessing next year we will see a lot of people who have been close in previous years finally get the call.

Parcells is the only lock out of the first-timers. The backlog will be sorta taken care of this year.

Ditto on Shields but, hell, I thought Roaf would be first ballot.

And please hold off any Whitlock cracks. Oh, shit. Cracks.

Re: Shields...when is the last time a o-lineman went in first ballot? Not saying, he isn't worthy but Willie Roaf is still on the outside. I think Roaf goes in first. I think Shields is the second best lineman on the ballot this year.

And Jack Butler and Dick Stanfel lead the old-timers.

Just a guess, Bruce Matthews? Willie/Will, one will bounce the other and that shouldn't happen.

    It looks like Matthews...

I wouldn't be stunned if the voters made Parcells wait another year for his two decades worth of waffling and dicking around with retirement and/or other jobs while he was still employed.

The HOF should tell Vanderjagt that he's in, but only if Manning handles his intro at the ceremony.

I can only assume that Parcells will decide the only person qualified to introduce him at the HOF will be himself.
