Does the best long snapper get into the HOF? Holder? Is Tasker a better special teams player than Leon Washington? Devin Hester? Josh Cribbs?

Tasker is the pet project of Peter King and should not be in the Top 15 much less the Hall.

Sapp defined the 3-technique defensive tackle.
    Teams gameplanned around him.
Run stuffer and pass rusher from the tackle position - a rare mix.
He was and is a huge asshole, but that doesn't preclude his talent.

Ya mean like Goose Gossage and Rollie Fingers? Football hall voters are so narrow-minded and nonsensical. Pretty much on par with AP football writers, who've never awarded an MVP to a wide receiver and yet have given one to a linebacker (LT), defensive tackle (Alan Page) and placekicker (Mark Moseley).

No, actually it doesn't even compare to Gossage and Fingers. The lefty specialist, a good comparison for the special teams ace, isn't good enough to close, either.

Top special teamers are only top special teamers because teams won't risk their best players in those situations on a regular basis. That's why you often see outstanding kick returners removed from the role when they become to valuable on offense or defense. Tasker built his reputation because he was never good enough as a receiver to be removed from special teams.

Either you don't understand the game or you are too busy chowing down on whatever Peter King feeds you.

Ray Guy? I understand punting and field position are pretty important parts of the game, and that Guy never had a punt returned for a touchdown in his career. He's one of only two people on the NFL 75th anniversary team who's not in the NFL. Should he be in the Hall of Fame? What about placekickers? Jan Stenerud is the only one, and his career percentage looks dreadful compared to contemporary kickers.

Or do they not qualify because they weren't good enough to play manly man football positions?

Punters and placekickers are discriminated against because a significant percentage of the voters really don't believe they are football players. This is wrong. Everyone inside football says it is wrong. But that's the reality. It is the sad tendency of sportswriters who cover one sport to become more Catholic than the Pope.

I'd love to see Joe Jacoby get in. I might drive out to Canton for that one.

What would you do if Chris Cooley got inducted?

I don't think we have to worry about that. But yeah, whatever it was, I'd do it without pants.

Was there a better punter than Ray Guy on those Raiders teams? Or a better kicker than Stenerud?

Yet another terrible comparison on your part.

Sapp will get in. Maybe not on the first ballot, but his wait will not be a long one.
