Tomorrow's A's-Mariners game will be live in MLB Network. I'm watching today's game using my MLB.tv subscription on Roku and the quality is a lot crisper than it was last season.

I had no idea the season started this morning. Is it me fail or MLB fail?

Huge MLB fail. I know the Mariners have Japanese ownership, which explains part of it, but is MLB so hard up for cash that it must sell the start of the season to overseas interests?

Baseball needs to be much more aggressive in its off-season marketing. How many promos were there for the Daytona 500 on Fox vs. Baseball on Fox during the Super Bowl, for example? As noted uptopic, the NFL makes its opening an event, and even the NBA managed to make a small silk purse out of a sow's ear this season with the lockout. But baseball? May as well throw a sign out there saying "Game To*Day," like in days of yore.

The A's currently up 3-1 in the bottom of the eight inning. Cespedes hit his first career home run in the Major Leagues. It was a two-run home run.

In as much as they'll factor into deciding third and fourth places in the AL West, yes.

This is the stupidest thing Selig has ever done. And he has done many.

I wouldn't say this is more stupid than the tie at the All-Star game.
