Make a course wet and these guys will demolish it. But they are setting up the playoff courses quite generously, to be polite. TPC Norton is just too easy for the pros, but Bethpage Black isn't, and it was surrendering more than its share of birdies, too.

Just an update. The 12 guys tied for ninth or higher are a combined 62-under -- for today. That's an average of under 67 for the round. Did they move Crooked Stick to Palm Springs when no one was looking?

The Fed Ex scoring remains ridiculous, but it has added something to the end of the year. And this week it's given us two amazing Tiger-Rory rounds together, and after their finish today, they should be together tomorrow.

I wonder if Phil Mickelson ever tries to hit a fairway. During the first round of The Tour Championship, Mickelson hit just 3 of 14 fairways, yet hit 16 greens in regulation and shot 69.

Has only hit one fairway in the first five holes today. Playing with Rory McIlroy.

Impressive. It would take one big trophy. Maybe they should all just get oversized checks like Happy Gilmore.
