And thankfully - Illinois restored some sanity to the world of college basketball.

Assuming you get the Ghost of Versus, Louisville-Mizzou should be a hell of a holiday torunament semifinal. And the Tigers want to pad their resume now because the bottom 3/4 of the SEC looks like ass this year.

Crean might not be an all-time coach, but superior horses are on a nice run for the Hoosiers right now against North Carolina.

IU fans treating this like last year's Kentucky game. When the nonconference skeddy is chock full of Sisters of the Poor, a bottle of water seems like an oasis.

IU is just hammering Carolina right now.

Currently 80-49 with four of IU's five starters out of the game.

When was the last time Roy Williams took a beating this bad?

Last year at Florida State. Has Roy taken the starters to the locker room and left the walk-ons to deal with the mob yet?

After dominating the ACC-Big Ten Challenge for years, the Atlantic Coasters aren't off to a great start in this one, especially when you consider one of the two victories came from Big Ten-bound Maryland.

Wake must be fairly bad -- it just lost 79-63 at home to Nebraska. The same Nebraska team that was a home underdog to Valparaiso and got pushed around at home by Kent State and lost 74-60, scoring just 9 fewer points than it did in the second half against Wake.

Ignorance is a good way to go, too.

Wake is coached by Jeff Bzdelik. That, and the fact that it has seven freshmen on its roster this season, should tell you all you need to know about how epically bad the Deacs stand to be again this season.

Another ACC team that was forecast to struggle, VT, is off to a surprising 6-0 start after crushing Iowa. The schedule has been extremely soft to date, but rookie head coach James Johnson is getting it done so far with only eight scholarship players -- most of whom he was responsible for recruiting as an assistant to Uncle Fester.

Johnson gets bonus points in my book for being a quality human being. I'm sure the kids he inherited love playing for him after a few years of dealing with a condescending shitbag like Seth.

ACC did dominate for a long time, but the B1G has "won" the last three challenges (8-4 in '11). 4-2 B1G after night one.

It's going to be great when Maryland wins the ACC on its way out the door. No one in the conference can stop Alex Len.
