Not sure if this needs a separte thread or not but the NCAA announced the preliminary round sites for 2014 and 2015 today.

Madison Square Garden will host the East Regional finals next year. It will be the first time MSG has hosted an NCAA round in 53 years.

And hey, look at that. Delaware 59, Virginia 53.

    CAA 2, U.Va. 0

I will never understand what the attraction is to playing a basketball game in a 70,000 seat dome. Watching the KU/MSU and UK/Duke games, there didn't appear to be more than 15-20,000 in there. Tops.

    Just looks horrible on television.

I would rather have the atmosphere like they had in Richmond for WSU/VCU. 8,000 in there sounded like 50,000.

Going to be a long-ish year for the Wahoos, although getting Jontel Evans healthy will help a lot. He's their second-best player.

Still likely an NIT ceiling for this bunch.

Didn't one of U.Va.'s injured players come back for the Delaware game? Not sure which, but I thought I heard that.

Delaware and Mason are two of the top 3 teams in the CAA this year. Just bad timing for Virginia. But oh, so glorious.

Obviously, the NCAA prefers no-holds-barred Organized Crime to the spectre of possible above-board sports betting within New Jersey's borders.

Evans saw three minutes of action against Delaware, but he's not close to 100 percent. He was just getting his feet wet.

Speaking of feet and injured UVa players, Malcolm Brogdon (the top recruit in the Cavs' sophomore class and the projected starting shooting guard) is still out after having foot surgery in the spring. Rumor is he might be done for good.

Indiana struggling with Georgia in the semis of one of these fake tournaments where the four host teams advance to the neutral site regardless. In UGa's case, regardless meant being run out of the gym by Youngstown State and falling in OT against Southern Miss.

Rotnei Clarke in early contention for shot of the year with this 30 foot, off balance, man in his face, running buzzer beater to lift Butler over Marquette:

So who is left in the Big East for the 2013-14 season?

Providence, Seton Hall, Georgetown, St. John's, Villanova, Marquette, DePaul, Cincinnati, Louisville and South Florida? Am I forgetting anyone?

Big East should stop sponsoring FB (since Cincy, Louisville and South Florida will leave ASAP), cherry pick the MAAC and northern A-10 (Siena, Fordham, St. Bona's, Marist, maybe Canisius and Niagara) and call it good. Keep the auto berth, still have a fairly competitive league.
