    He did look like shit. He was lathered up more than any other horse. Unbelievable job by the jockey.

    Good for Dale Romans, a good guy and a great trainer. Hope somebody out there had Shackleford. I thought the speed would burn itself out, and 22.69 and 46.87 fell right into that scenario, but then they slowed it down, and Shack had a ton of guts to hold off Animal Kingdom.

    Connections for Shackleford and Animal Kingdom say, "On to the Belmont," which is rather unusual.

    The first page of this thread was way more entertaining and quicker than the race itself. Heard Shackleford's wire-to-wire win was the slowest Preakness in 17 years. It speaks to the mediocrity of the healthy 3-year-olds this year.
