I'm trying to think of when it did work out... Jeff Fisher was a mid-season replacement I believe...

    NFC West Champ - Rams
    NFC East Champ - Eagles
    NFC North Champ - Packers
    NFC South Champ - Falcons
    NFC Wild Card - Giants
    NFC Wild Card - Buccaneers

    AFC West Champ - Chiefs
    AFC East Champ - Patriots
    AFC North Champ - Ravens
    AFC South Champ - Colts
    AFC Wild Card - Steelers
    AFC Wild Card - Jets

Super Bowl pick - Patriots over Packers

    MVP - Tom Brady
Defensive Player of the year - Suh
Rookie of the year - Mark Ingram
Coach of the Year - Belichek
First coach fired - Mike Shannahan. Snyder's dropped the axe in mid-season before and Shanny may not have done himself any favors with some of his personnel decisions. Seriously: John Beck?

I was going to say Kubiak because he'll take a team that some might feel can contend for the wild card and pull a 7-9 finish out instead. But they'd probably stay in contention long enough that he wouldn't be fired during the season.

Good call on Fisher, and I think Marv Levy was a midseason replacement as well, but I'd be shocked if any other replacement coach has ever gone on to lead the team he took over to a Super Bowl down the line.

    It just doesn't happen.

I don't think Kansas City plays in the Super Bowl and don't think Haley is fired. However, it will be interesting how the Chiefs offense does without Weis.
