After a while, you just become numb to it. In my state there are at least 100 high schools with native-American mascots.

Anyone want to look ahead to next year's World Series?

I'm calling it now, Philadelphia vs. Detroit.

Yes, I am predicting the Yankees will miss the World Series unless Cashman makes the moves I have been suggesting on this forum.

Phillies didn't get there this year - and won't Howard miss 2012?

So when the Nats do sign Sizemore, those of us in this town shouldn't be too excited?

I think Howard is only supposed to miss half the season, but I could be wrong.

Howard might not even miss the first month.

Huge fanboi for Sizemore (since he helped my team win my [I don't care about your] fantasy league a few years back)...but nothing ages faster than speed, and I'd bet 20 points or more of his batting average was due to his ability to beat out infield grounders. And that ability probably is not coming back.

    That's definitely part of it.

It's amazing what fans have at their fingertips these days. You can find both his infield hit totals and as a percentage of ground balls he hit here: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=2197&position=OF

    Can't believe Alfonso Soriano isn't a finalist.

I can't believe Jeter isn't a finalist. After all, shouldn't the greatest player EVAH just get handed the award until he retires?
