Hmmm not sure if there’s enough interest year round for this or if it should just be slam/ news events based threads as usual.

The warm up exo’s are done. Serena and Elena face off in the Sydney final tonight after Serena fought past by Aravane in 3 and Elena absolutely crushed Vika. But the most entertaining match of the year may have already been played. (For those who missed it:
It had a happy ending since Kim promptly donated her entire winnings to the Brisbane Children’s Hospital.)

Biggest disappointment so far this year in tennis? That BTExpress or I didn't start this thread.

Anyway, I'm glad That Foul Evil Creature (Henin) is back. I haven't had anybody to root against for a while. It's not fun to root against somebody who can't get out of the quarters at a major.

Looking for Andy Murray to break through this year, either in Australia or the U.S.

Didn't everyone say that last year?

Actually, I do think he wins a slam this year. I think we might have a different winner in all four.

I think Davydenko might win one finally.

Everyone did, and he had a great year. The biggest question with him is does he keep improving, or does he level off for a season?

Am I reading that right? 64 seeded players (way too fucking many) and FOUR from the U.S.? Two on each side? What the hell has happened?
No wonder so few over here give a damn about tennis anymore.

Yeah, as a lurker I was hoping someone would start this thread earlier when the exo and Brisbane started, but the AO main draw is today so….

The AO site promised a livestream of the ceremony at 10:40am and still nothing doing. How comical. I hate being a tennis fan. Oh wait the stream is suddenly working… just in time for the men’s draw. Typical…

    Link.
