I thought NBC's reporting on the matter at the top of the show was well presented. Heartbreaking story.

 

On a totally unrelated note, I harbor a secret ambition to live in Canada at some point.

 

Yes, it was good.

On a much lighter note, I like the USA's gear.

 

Agreed. I could not believe how thorough and, well, legitimate it was. Not only that, but they showed some fairly graphic pictures, including one of someone with bloodied hands giving Kumaritashvili mouth to mouth. I can't believe Ebersol and/or the IOC approved that, since it runs so counter to the usual happy happy pap bullshit they spew two weeks every two years. Today had to be one of the worst of the worst-case scenarios, especially for the Opening Ceremonies, but NBC did everything it should have and then some.

Yup. NBC has earned its criticism for its recent Olympic packaging, and it should earn praise for this coverage.

 

I completely lost it when Lil' Wayne started singing.

 

Someone had to take Dan Aykroyd's part.

 

Laughter not crying, right?

 

I thought the idea was nice, to try and raise money for Haiti.
I saw Tony Bennett, Carlos Santana, Barbra, and many more who looked committed to the project.
Kudos to Quincy Jones and Lionel on this.
But, was that Vince Vaughn in the back row?
