    It was Vigneault who accused him of using the back injury as an excuse. He called Hodgson's character into question and unjustly so.

    I'm a big Hodgson fan and thought Vigneault's comments last year were off, but I wonder if the Hodgson camp had just become a bit much for the coach and GM, leading to all of last year's friction.

    Most know Hodgson's old man is a former Ontario cabinet minister and no shrinking violet, and I can't see him not inserting himself into the middle of the situation.
