Exchange on a Pirates message board ...

Poster 1: I went out for 20 minutes and it's 9-0. I come back and it's 10-7. What the fuck happened?

    Poster 2: Pirate Baseball.

Ask most people in Atlanta and they'll tell you the team they're most worried about in the N.L. east is the Phillies, but the way they're going they could be completely out of it by the trading deadline.

And that Pittsburgh score is 11-9 now. Just wow.

Tommy Hunter stayed undefeated on mound as Texas won 8-0 at Detroit.
Hunter was one of two ex-Alabama Tiders starting tonight, along with Wade LeBlanc (a loser despite yielding just 5 hits to the Atlanta)

Eh, it doesn't count, seeing as how the Tigers haven't answered the bell, coming out of the All-Star break. :D

Hitting .210 (37-for-176) since the break. Highest game average is .236, which came in the 14 inning game Monday night.

Talk about a buzz-kill for Tigers fans, but there's plenty of time in that division.

I was thinking the Pinella news might break on the season premiere of My Boys.

Cubs fanboi breaking out of me here:

Starlin Castro turned 20 in march of this year, and he's now hitting .292 with decent power and walks as a shortstop.

They'll fuck him up by the time he's 22.

Interesting stat left over from the weekend ... 19 of Prince Fielder's 23 home runs have been solo homers. He has 23 HR and 45 RBI, and he's fifth on the team in RBIs. None of which is astounding, I guess, but I was surprised.
