Rush should be in, yadda yadda. So should Motorhead, and either Iron Maiden or Judas Priest.

    But anyway:

Looks like a pretty ho-hum list to me.

    The nominees are:

    http://rockhall.com/inductees/ceremonies/2011/

    Alice Cooper
    Beastie Boys
    Bon Jovi
    Chic
    Neil Diamond
    Donovan
    Dr. John
    J. Geils Band
    LL Cool J
    Darlene Love
    Laura Nyro
    Donna Summer
    Joe Tex
    Tom Waits
    Chuck Willis

Alice Cooper - How is he not already in?
    Beastie Boys - Yes.
    Bon Jovi - Yes.
    Chic - Who?
    Neil Diamond - Yes
    Donovan - Hell no.
    Dr. John - Who?
    J. Geils Band - Absolutely.
LL Cool J - Mama said not this time.
    Darlene Love - No.
    Laura Nyro - No.
    Donna Summer - No.
    Joe Tex - No.
    Tom Waits - Maybe.
    Chuck Willis - No.

    Once again, Rush gets fucked.

So KISS gets a one year nomination and that's it? Sonofa......Ridiculous.

If Bongiovi gets in before KISS, there is truly no justice in this world.

And as further proof that it is the Hall of Music Jann Wenner and Friends Like, if you ask 100 people on the street what Laura Nyro, Joe Tex and Chuck Willis do/did for a living, maybe a handful would guess musician.

    Alice Cooper - Yes.
    Beastie Boys - Yes.
Bon Jovi - Meh. They put out two great albums in the 80s and turned into dad rock after that. I dunno.
    Chic - Who?
    Neil Diamond - Yes
    Donovan - Who?
Dr. John - Pretty influential in the New Orleans music scene, so I could go either way.
    J. Geils Band - Did I miss a crucial part of J. Geils' career? Did they have any other hits than Love Stinks or Centerfold? What makes J. Geils any more HOF worthy than Aldo Nova?
    LL Cool J - No.
    Darlene Love - No.
    Laura Nyro - Who?
    Donna Summer - No.
    Joe Tex - Who?
    Tom Waits - Yes
    Chuck Willis - Who?

I'm not going on the Rush rant. Some of these candidates are just ridiculous.

    Alice Cooper -- Yes
    Beastie Boys -- No.
Bon Jovi -- Yes. the hair-rock band of the 80s you loved to hate, the alt-country band of the 00s you love to hate, but they'll get in
Chic -- No more disco in the hall.
Neil Diamond -- YES. Few people know his impact on pop-rock (ie. writing some hits for The Monkeys) and his appearance in The Last Waltz, but most know him only from his solo work.
    Donovan -- Mellow NO
Dr. John -- YES. The New Orleans-style boogie/blues arm of rock needs another member in the hall.
    J. Geils Band - YES
LL Cool J - Heck no.
Darlene Love - Helped make the girl-group sound of the 60s popular, but .. NO
Laura Nyro - NO, unless there's a songwriter wing.
    Donna Summer - Nope.
    Joe Tex - Who?
    Tom Waits - YES
    Chuck Willis - Who?

    J. Geils was always a killer live act before (and after) the Love Stinks/Centerfold success and they had some radio airplay with stuff not on those two albums.

Appreciate the answer. They were a little before my time in terms of my music enjoyment. I was still a little kid when they had their big mainstream success.

Alice Cooper - Should have been in years ago
Beastie Boys - Not a fan, but they might be influential enough to get the nod
Bon Jovi - Shouldn't get in, but they will
    Chic - No
    Neil Diamond - Yes
    Donovan - No
Dr. John - Would love to see him go in. The Night Tripper has been making great records for eons.
    J. Geils Band - Yes. Way more to these guys than "Love Stinks" and "Centerfold". Killer live band, Full House is one of the great albums - live or otherwise - from the 70s.
    LL Cool J - No
    Darlene Love - No
    Laura Nyro - No
    Donna Summer - No
    Joe Tex - No
    Tom Waits - Yes
Chuck Willis - Made some fine records back in the day, but no

And yes, Rush, KISS, Motorhead and Priest should be in. Same with Stevie Ray Vaughan.

SRV isn't in!?! If that's true the entire place should be burned to the ground.
