2009 NHL off-season trades, rumours, draft thread

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by AMacIsaac, May 12, 2009.

  1. It wasn't just Game 7. He was the Penguins' best player that entire series, IMHO.

In fact, as good as Malkin's numbers were, I still think Talbot should've won the Conn Smythe Trophy. As each round passed, he did a little bit of everything for the team. And it seemed like he never came off the ice in the finals.

He played great in game 7, but there is no game 7 without Malkin and there is no third round without Crosby.

Doesn't anybody proof ANYTHING any more?

    Here's the headline:

"Press Conference Scheduled For Thursday, June 9"

Matt Duchene will be very disappointed if he retires.

He would remain with the team in some capacity, wouldn't he?

NHL says Pronger contract counts as an over-35 deal. Even though he signed it at age 34, it doesn't kick in until after he's 35.

So, Flyers' will have him on cap for $5 million/season until he's 42 -- even if he retires. I love Pronger, but I can't believe Philly, with all of its cap troubles, would do it.
