2009 MLB Predictions

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil Bastard (aka Chris_L), Feb 25, 2009.

  1. Here's a thread for specific predictions about the 2009 MLB season. Here's three from me to start it off:

    1. 2009 will be the year a pitcher from the Mets finally pitches a no-hitter

    2. Matt Wieters will get injured in AAA when the Orioles attempt to stash him early in the season in an effort to delay his arbitration eligible years. Wieters won't be available for the Orioles until after the All-Star break because of the injury.

    3. The Orioles finish last in the AL East (see above)

The Cubs will not win the World Series.

Trevor Hoffman will have 30-35 saves for the Brewers this season.

The Tampa Bay Rays will win more games this season and win the AL East.

The Kansas City Royals will finish in the top three in the AL Central.

Chad Billingsley finishes in the Top 5 in the NL Cy Young voting and the Dodgers win the West easily on the back of a ton of young players having big years.

The Cubs win a playoff game, breaking their streak of nine straight losses (all of those losses being by two or more runs, even more impressively).

The Blue Jays finish ahead of one of the Big Three in the East.

  5. The Yankees will win the World Series.

    I wish.

You're obsessed. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs. Cubs.

The Reds and Royals are my surprise teams in both leagues. At least one of those teams will also make a serious playoff push.

I saw that and my jaw dropped, but then I scrolled down a little and saw "I wish" and laughed pretty hard.
