No idea. I do wonder if Thome will come back and where. Made no sense for him to ride the pine in LA.

Link doesn't fire, Buck. Here's one that works:

Where else is Bay going to go? Yankees? Mets? Would the Giants open up the pbocketbook? They could certainly use the bat.

Good question, but the Sox now have Hermida, Ellsbury and Drew (who is under contract for three more years), with Ortiz as the DH. I'd assume that means Bay will move on, to whomever is the highest bidder. It's not like they could trade Ortiz or Drew at this point.

That, or Hermida is a fourth outfielder/fill-in when Drew or Ortiz breaks down. Replacing Bay with Hermida strikes me as a terrible idea.

Mariners, he lives in Seattle in the off season and is from B.C.

That makes some sense. Another team that could use the offense. And doesn't Beltre come off the books this year?

It's been pretty much assumed the Red Sox were not going to re-sign Bay. They'd also love to unload Ortiz -- he's finished -- but obviously there are no takers.

Seattle will end up signing Bay and World Series MVP DH Hideki Matsui.

Somebody else mentioned that before, which raised the question of Ichiro having an issue with Matsui. I wonder how much of a factor that would be.
