OK folks one week to go before Opening Day. Whoohoo. So what better time than now to record our predictions for this season? Let's try to bump this thread occassionally so that we can take a look back and see in October how little we actually knew.

I'll start! I reserve the right to change these until next Monday (screw Sunday's prime-time game, Opening Day is Monday):

    AL EAST: Red Sox
    AL CENTRAL: Tigers
    AL WEST: Angels
    AL WILD CARD: Yankees

    NL EAST: Braves
    NL CENTRAL: Brewers (hi Bubbler!)
    NL WEST: D-Backs
    NL WILD CARD: Padres

Still not sure about the playoffs. Switching Papelbon to the bullpen really could tilt the balance of power in the AL.

AL MVP: Grady Sizemore (gotta be this year damnit)
AL CY YOUNG: Johan Santana (who else?)
    AL ROY: Philip Hughes

    NL MVP: Andruw Jones, Atl
NL CY YOUNG: Ben Sheets, Milw
    NL ROY: Chris Young, Arz

PLAYOFFS: Red Sox over Angels, Yankees over Tigers; Brewers over Padres, Braves over DBacks
LCS: Yankees over Red Sox; Braves over Brewers
    WORLD SERIES: Yankees over Braves

Ken Griffey Jr. will not finish the season healthy.

Sportschick thereby assures she can say she got all her predictions right even though she doesn't like baseball. :D

I predict that I will hear from the Future more than once this season: "I want to blow up Major League Baseball."

    AL:
    East: Red Sox
    Central: Twinkies
    West: Angels
    Wild Card: Blue Jays

    MVP: Joe Mauer
    Cy: Halladay
    ROY: I have no idea

    NL:
    East Mets
Central: Brewers (becuase this entire division truly sucks)
    West: Padres
    Wild card: Phillies

    MVP: Jose Reyes
    Cy: Oswalt
    ROY: I have no idea

    Other things to bet on:

    O/U on BYH calling A-Rod a fraud = 42
O/U on BYH saying the Mets suck = 36
O/U on Chris L (does he still exist?) touting some .220-hitting Red Sox minor leaguer as the next great thing = 16
O/U on somebody ::) calling Joe Mauer soft = 21
