I think some of you are missing the point here. Pretty sure football_bat's purpose in pointing out that gas in his area is at $2.47 wasn't to insinuate he's gonna go joyriding around town for the next four hours or to say that he's particularly thrilled over $2.47 a gallon.

However, $2.47 is a helluva lot better than $3.47, which is what we were pretty close to not a month or so back. It's OK to be happy about that. Doesn't mean we're all gonna rush to the pumps and start bathing in the stuff. Just means we get to keep a bit more of our paycheck for important shit, like, you know, groceries and porn rentals.

Yeah, it sucks that it still costs damn near three times as much as it did when Fredo took over. How people don't see the correlation there, I have no idea.

All this after the plot to blow up planes over the Atlantic was foiled, thereby freaking people out about flying again and opening up a bunch of fuel for automobiles.

If the gas prices fall, the terrorists have won.

Oh I know, out in Ontario it's as low apparently as 76 cents. her in Alberta, in the middle of the oil patch it's still over a dollar. They kept relaying this message of encouragement over the radio all day.
