My first trip to San Fran, I was sick as a dog, it was pouring down rain all the way on my drive up from L.A., I had been walking around the city lost by myself at night, stumbled into Union Square around 10 p.m., starving, looking for a simple slice of pizza or something, turned the corner ... and there was O'Douls, promising a hot sandwich and a cold beer (and a lot of awesome baseball memorabilia, of course.)

Considering the circumstances, one of the best meals I've ever eaten.

It's too bad for O'Doul he played the prime of his career outside of the majors.

From age 27-30 he hit .369 with 973 hits in that four-year span.

This must be ancient history because the team in Oakland is determined to win the pennant at any cost. Anti-Moneyball!
