I wonder if the car was a rental.

I can see midnight showings eliminated entirely (or at severely curtailed) after this. And people showing up in costume for movies is probably going to be banned.

This woman Jennifer Seeger on Today right now has a pretty incredible account.

And ABC News just mentioned that Homes might have joined the TEA Party last year.

My first thought is that this seems like something The Joker (the Heath Ledger version) would have done ... and I imagine that's what the guy was going for.

I wish all the 24-hour news networks would pass down a "no editorializing" edict on their anchors when news breaks. They simply aren't up to it. And I'm not talking political comments or controversial comments. I'm talking about the inane "perspective" comments to fill dead air. It has been painful this morning on both FOX and CNN to hear someone try to say something pithy and profound every time there's a moment of dead air. Just one awful cliche after another on the order of, "No one thought it could happen here." Just tell us what's happening.

I'm stunned that for once, the alleged shooter was caught instead of offing himself.

Not to mention that's inaccurate. I'd say that with Columbine, the Denver area now has what will go down as two of the four or five most infamous mass shootings in American history (with Virginia Tech, University of Texas and Kent State).

The way he was described as body armored up, he was probably shot, knocked down and unable to keep shooting.

Good we can now move away from Timothy James McVeigh as the "white guy" example when playing the "it's not always muslims" card.

According to several Twitter feeds (including Michelle Beadle), this is one of the victims, who apparently worked in local TV sports in Denver:

I just heard that they cancelled the premiere in Paris because of this.
