That's surely why I'm so sick of a lot of these songs. But I love "Ace of Spades." Not coincidentally, that's the only song in the top 10 I don't here at least 50 times a year.

If this means anything, my 11-year-old son, a hard-rock/punk/etc. fan, can't get enough of "Welcome to the Jungle." His fresh ears remind me of why so many people got so excited about the song, and why so many still do. I can't argue with the top 10 because these are songs that will never die. Sometimes you need someone else to remind you why they're so popular and influential, and why people would rank this particular song No. 1.

And I'm saying this as someone who is not a big GnR fan.

Exactly. We are all sick of most of these songs from overkill (especially being sports journalists), but many of them will live on forever and be passed down generations.
