Shank Shaughnessy can do 10 columns in an hour. Just replace 'John McNamara' with 'John Farrell', etc.

I am under no illusion that all 10 columns will be fantastic. Some of them will be good, I hope. Some of them won’t be, I imagine.

So will your readers. This is an inane exercise. Doing any type of writing just to do it is what hacks do. He'd be the kind of guy who'd always write 1000 words of fiction per day even if it's shit. No one benefits from that. All he's doing is courting carpal tunnel syndrome. Why not save your topics for when you actually need them? I fucking hate gimmicks like this, especially from a writer. It's shit like this that causes people to think less of the profession and fosters the impression that anybody can do it.

I didn't read the link yet, but my first question is how many of the ten articles are for experience (i.e., free unpaid labor)?

Would be even better if he live-tweeted it all.

Aren't writers already doing this? They are called "blogs."
