I would have done it for $20,000, lunch and a fruit roll-up.

Damn, I could've bought the parts at a Lowe's in Oklahoma for $250, spent $200 in gas round trip, and made a cool $999,550.

That's a good story. Lots of nice detail.

Further proof there's no shortage of stupid people and stupid decisions.

It's San Fran. No problem asking for a fruit roll-up.

I'm really, really, really, really sorry.
It was just sitting there, begging to be hit out of the park.
    I had to.

I hate myself for cracking a smile at that one.

Over a million bucks? Think how many hungry kids that could feed.

Just take a sledgehammer to the stairs and hammer some boards over it. Problem solved.

    Idiots.

Although this story does remind me of that scene in "Back to School" when Thorton Mellon tells the professor about all the extra fees and bribes needed to get a factory built.
