    I'm confused.

    What does a LBJ quote about Vietnam have to do with this clip from Olbermann?

    The invasion of Iraq and the war in Afghanistan are, well, a little different than Vietnam

    And the media landscape in '69 is another universe away from 2011.

    The problem with Afghanistan - and I think even the Bush administration realized this - is that it lacks the social infrastructure to make a military "victory" possible. There are what, a dozen Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and we're still dealing with the Taliban now, worried that they'll make a comeback and it doesn't seem likely they will be agreeing to a peace treaty anytime soon.

    KO is no better than those he castigates. Watch the fury in his face, his eyes bulging, his veins popping, as he goes on a name-calling screed against those whom he believes are lowering public discourse in America.
