“I’ve never seen Oasis live but there couldn’t have been that many better than us.”

I believe it was Dave Marsh who noted that The Who and Oasis were the only big bands that had one member write all the songs and another member sing them.

Liam Gallagher wrote plenty of Oasis songs.

Noel wrote all of the songs on their first three albums. Liam's first credited songwriting credit, "Little James," is on their fourth album and may be the worst Oasis song in the entire catalogue. In fairness, Liam wrote some really good songs on their last two studio albums.

I've never heard of Q. I mostly get my British entertainment news from NME.

Q and Mojo are great British rock mags that cost a fortune over here.

Pitchfork recently released its 50 greatest Britpop albums of all time, although one must question the soundness of any such list that doesn't have Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory at Nos. 1 and 2.

Nice to see the boys in my avatar getting some Brit-Pop love. The second Supergrass album ("In It For the Money") and "I Should Coco," their debut, are nos. 24 and 12.

    About "I Should Coco":

Full disclosure: The only reason I picked "I Should Coco" as my SJ.com handle is because I was playing the CD when I signed up. But I have several Supergrass CDs and they hold up well. Also, props to anyone whose debut album has songs titled "Mansize Rooster" and "She's So Loose."

There were no good Gallaghers in Oasis. Fucking wankers.
