Sorry, I know we had a thread on this before, but I couldn't find it with the search function. Anyway, I'm working on a story and need to find how many Division I schools have football and men's basketball teams coached by alums. I know of NC State, UNC (for a few more weeks) and Maryland in the ACC. Anybody know where to find a definitive list?

It might be a last-ditch effort and take some research, but the stats guy at the NCAA (Gary Johnson, I believe) can send you a list of head coaches and their alma maters. That might be a start.

IIRC, Mike Shula played at Alabama.

I have a feeling this would be a pretty long list. Off the top of my head, you also have Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern.
