If you have a gift for finding and writing compelling sports stories about
trends, issues and people, as well as crafting game stories that convey
significance and capture drama, The Star Press, a 35,000 Gannett daily in Muncie,
    Indiana, wants you.

The position also demands an interest in covering outdoors sports and
weekend warriors, as well as preps. Applicants must have excellent knowledge of style and grammar and the ability to deliver error-free copy under deadline. The job will include some desk work, and
experience in that area is a plus.

Help push The Star Press’ award-winning sports department to bigger and
better things by sending your résumé to Phil Beebe, P.O. Box 2408, Muncie,
    IN 47307, or e-mail at pbeebe@muncie.gannett.com.

  2. Translation: You won't get to sniff Ball State football or basketball...

In June, this paper aslo had an opening for an assistant sports editor. Does anyone know if they filled that spot or is there now two open spots in the sports department

Better Ball State than Indiana State, based on the towns alone.
