The Florida Times-Union has an opening for a Jacksonville Jaguars beat writer. This is a high-profile two-person beat that provides daily coverage of the Jaguars and the NFL. Experience covering an NFL beat is necessary, as is the ability to report, break news and develop alternative ways to tell interesting stories.

Send a cover letter and clips to:

    The Florida Times-Union
    Attn: Human Resources
    One Riverside Ave.
    Jacksonville, FL 32202

You may apply with your resume in Microsoft Word format to:

    tujobs@jacksonville.com

Please include in the subject line: FL-TU and reference the position you are applying for.

Hmmm. Interesting --- I know some guys in the biz who could really do good on this beat.

It's Jacksonville. What other reason do you need?

For those of us who have not seen the Times-Union in many years, what is the good, bad and ugly on this paper? Boots made the quality-of-living joke, but how do locals grade all the important stuff, particularly the paper?

yeah, i understand the morris part, unfortunately. just wondered if anyone had specifics on bart's particular reason for bailing and if it was a move up or just to get the hell outta dodge.
