The killing of the NYPD officer this week was obviously a horrible event and I guess good on Trump for attending the wake. But per the WaPo, here is what he said after and it makes absolutely no sense:

“We have to get back to law and order. We have to do a lot of things differently. This is not working. This is happening too often,” Trump said.
 After his brief remarks, he repeated himself as he walked away toward his motorcade and added: “We’ve got to toughen it up.”

 

Sorry, not good on Trump. He showed up because it was a dead cop in a blue city. He probably started politicizing it before the body turned cold.
