Covered a guy like that from our area years ago. He made it to the Padres and had a couple good starts but tended to struggle. He was a bright guy and his manager, I think it was Larry Bowa, said he was too smart for his own good and he would be better if he just pitched and stopped thinking about it.

Having Opening Day on the Thursday of the Regional semis is dumb. First Tuesday in April is how it should be, but I know they need to move it back to fit in the extra playoffs.

Yes, the new young right fielder for the Yankees appears to have a bright future in the game...

I always remember it on Championship Monday, but so many games were during the day it didn’t matter.

.320, 40 HR, great defense, no ring.

Reds play a Monday afternoon game - the NCAA final that night - then the rest of MLB opens on the next day - the Masters on the weekend. A perfect week.

To be fair, Skubal did a lot of that late last season, too, and his fastball velocity was up in Spring Training.

In the bottom of the ninth, Jankowski just fixed the defensive and umpiring errors from the top of the ninth.

A good ole-fashioned 14-run inning for the Diamondbacks.

According to Jason Beck, that's the first 1-0 Opening Day win for the Tigers in their franchise history. Took them 124 years to do it.
