    Don't want to sound unsympathetic to the reporter, but how many times, when he was recounting his sacrifices, did he say some version of, "I know I didn't have to do this, ... "? I admire his commitment and his desire to not take shortcuts or have mail-it-in efforts. But at what point was he running himself into the ground for his own self-image of what he was "supposed" to do as opposed to running himself into the ground to serve the readers?
