There aren't too many obvious hires at this stage, but there's no reason on Earth why Duke hasn't approached Steve Spurrier Jr. about the football job opening.

 

Hopefully Bill O’Brien understands he needs to cut down his asking price and then he can slot right in, like a souped up Al Groh.

 

As a CSU fan, I would rather not. He had the one good season, but bolted before it was done and CSU lost to Air Force and got crushed in the bowl game after (he was technically still here for Air Force, but it was a done deal and he checked out). Also didn't beat Boise like everyone else. But he was only in Fort Collins for three years and I just don't know if I would go down that road again. That said, CSU has to do something different than the last two. A lot different.

 

CSU doesn't have a great track record on hiring coaches. And CU has a new one like every four months. So you are probably still OK there.
