I'll admit this is more of a news side role, but the digital editor will be working with sports copy on a daily basis, as well as digital aspects (such as live/static video, photos and podcasts).

Here's the formal description below. All questions should be directed to Executive Editor Bruce Miller at BMiller@siouxcityjournal.com. I can be of help, too.

The Sioux City Journal has an immediate opening for a full-time digital editor/reporter. The successful candidate, who reports to the editor, is responsible for creating, driving and promoting online content for a newspaper that has been a consistent online leader.

In addition to leading the site's award-winning coverage, the successful candidate will be responsible for posting early morning content on the Web site, siouxcityjournal. com, and serve as the primary point person for reporters calling in news in the first half of the day. The editor must be able to rewrite those items quickly and accurately for posting online.

The digital editor/reporter also will be responsible for monitoring the wire report early in the day and posting items of local interest that will drive online traffic. This person must be comfortable working across platforms and collaborating with several disciplines.
