My wife ended up watching The Little Things with her mother without me. Their reaction was harsher than yours. They didn't like it at all.

I watched Kentucky Fried Movie for the first time in years last night. Damn, it is still funny, and a little disturbing that I remembered most of the skits and punch lines from 1977. "Take him to Detroit."

There are probably more gratuitous breast shots than all of the comedies made in the 2000s combined.

Mrs. Flip and I watched 9 to 5 the other night, and it was still funny. I didn't remember a lot of it and the title song was stuck in my head as I was trying to go to sleep later. Would recommend.

Nomadland; so well done; hope director gets an Oscar nomination. So poignant; examining how America disposes of our non-skilled, college lacking, elderly workers like a hefty bag. IMHO, family (or close friend) ties are the web that keeps us together. Without them, individuals get lost.

    Loo: And who are they?
Dr. Klahn: Refuse, found in waterfront bars.
    Loo: Shanghaied?
Dr. Klahn: Just lost drunken men who don't know where they are and no longer care.
    Prisoner #1: Where are we?
    Prisoner #2: I don't care!

I won't link the Eyewitness News segment that ended the film, but in rewatching, that was pretty hardcore, even for that type of movie. That alone would get an NC-17 today.

I'm still waiting for "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble" to at least stream somewhere.

    Doubleheader Saturday Night.

Honest Thief with Neeson. Decent flick. Predictable. 3 out of 5 toes.
White Boy Rick with McConaughey. Good flick. 4 out of 5 toes.
