Gene Hackman turned 91 on Jan. 30.
Holy cow.
We have enough RIP threads.
Here's to one of the greats who is still alive.

 

Damn you. I thought this was a RIP thread at first. Thankfully I was wrong.

 

He's had dementia for a while, no?

Definite 1A material when he goes.

 

Nope. Celebrating the fact they he's still alive.

 

It is still a crime that his last role was Welcome to Mooseport. No disrespect for Christopher Plummer or Bruce Dern, but Hackman could have had a good half of the roles that they crushed in the last 15 years if he chose to.

 

Plus, he is a Marine.

Then why is Dennis Hopper already dead?

 

And even in kind of a throwaway flick like Mooseport, Hackman did his damndest to make it watchable. Cast someone better than Ray Romano for the co-lead and it could have worked.

 

Always thought he looked like Joe Maddon here.
