That's actually a remarkably smart idea that I can't believe I hadn't even thought about.

A holder?! Good gawd. I was listening to the ESPNU College Football Blitz in the car and they cut in live to the kick and made it sound like a mini-moon landing. Now I don't want to look for the video.

As someone with ACC ties, I'd be overjoyed with that deal. Clemson has an SEC values structure and Vandy is more in line with the ACC.

The person who comes off the worst today from Vandy-Missouri is Barry Odom.

    Why?

Vanderbilt played Missouri very tough during Odom’s years in Columbia.

    Today... Eli rolled them 41-0.

I used to believe that Clemson-Kentucky would be the ideal swap. Vanderbilt’s academic profile fits very well with Duke, Wake, UNC, Virginia.

Of course, it would cost the SEC a bundle but, man, talk about true football dominance.

    TCU-Kansas is great television.

Do people here really think the SEC powers WANT Clemson in the conference?

One of the many reasons it won't happen is that the SEC, unlike the ACC, protects its existing membership when it plots new membership. The ACC could learn a thing or 12 from that mindset. Or it could have. A bit late now. The well has been poisoned.

I did. I got the right conference but tried to be cute about the team. My wife is attending SCU. I denounce myself
