When the religious nuts took over the unionist political parties in Northern Ireland, a lot of blood was needlessly shed. The DUP and Ian Paisley legitimately thought they were God's Israelites and Northern Ireland was their promised land, ignoring the fact that they were "planted" there by the Brits.

The religious types with whom I'm familiar actually would be knocked for a loop by that line of inquiry. "Just how fucking stupid is this dude?" is what they'd be mulling over as they backed slowly away.

As the pandemic has proven, over and over again, a church isn't a building but its people.

For the non-religious movie fans, think of Odin telling Thor that Asgard isn't a place but its people.

You can knock 'em all you want ... and they don't believe in an invisible man, btw ... and their feelings won't be hurt in the least. But your "why do you go to church if God is everywhere, huh?" ain't the sick burn you seem to think it is. The people you'd be asking it of would be more than a bit embarrassed for you.

I wonder what the Republican Super PACs are doing re: Florida ads.

which is fine because I’m more than embarrassed by them, regardless of your tone on the matter.

Is he thinking polls are in his favor (entirely possible) or is he hoping, like Wicked alluded to, Super PACs are going to take up the charge? Seems royally dumb to abandon a state where if he loses he can kiss re-election good-bye.
