Whatever happens to the nation because of it, oh well.

Yes, had it been decided by popular vote three million who voted for Hillary would have voted for Trump instead. It's so obvious, how could I not understand that logic?

Keep spouting those Republican talking points, Mr. "I'm not a Republican."

Oddly enough, we already do know how such an election would have turned out.

If it were a winner take all National vote, we don’t know how the campaigns would have changed, if there’d still be state by state primaries (what’s the use of them?) to determine the big race, etc.

I don’t know why we do national polling, tbh. It makes no difference.

It's not the prescribed role of the Democrats to tsk-tsk this and keep a stiff upper lip for the good of the country, while the Republicans get a pass to run their naked power plays. And if this has shown nothing else, it's that the nation is fucked--absolutely fucked--if the Democrats will not, in fact, push back on them for doing so.

It stops when the marginal power of a new Justice is so small that it's not worth the fight anymore. And hell, maybe that's the way it should be. Nine seems too few given the partisan warfare this has led to.

It’ll be better. It’ll be representative of the majority of the people.

I wasn’t referring to the election outcome.

    I was referring to vengeance.

Call it what you like. Call it justice. But wrongs have to be corrected. And forgive us if some glee is taken after years of being shit on and fucked over to the delight of republicans.

Obviously they thought so at the time, or perhaps they just enjoyed kicking someone's ass like it was a street fight. McConnell has never made any secret of how much he enjoyed hamstringing Obama.

I suspect that when the Dems are gouging eyes in retribution they might have a few second thoughts... and I hope the D's summon the guts to fight dirty in return.
