$1 billion dollars doesn’t get very much for a stadium anymore. For a joint venture between 2 NY teams, MetLife is as generic and nondescript as possible

I can't wrap my brain around just how awful that must be. Jesus, that has to be awful.

A question for you, PD... are there enough political ads in Southern California for this? Right now, in contested districts/markets, there are stations adding new newscasts and "products" (shows) because, when you do this, you get to keep 100% of the revenue that comes in.

Also, Jim Hill's station probably can only run a limited amount of NFL B-roll/video (2 minutes is, usually, the standard) for an entire program.

Okay, guys. let me set the scene. This show comes on right after the chargers game. Its on the local CBS affiliate, it seems like there is a reasonable amount of NFL highlights.

Jim Hill is on a set smack in the middle of an indian casino. Hill is partnered with local talk radio dummy Beto Duran. If words were empty calories, Duran's work is a platter of Hostess pastries.

There is a guy playing a Buffalo Slot machine not 10 feet behind them.

Hill cannot catch up with the highlights. Whether it was US Open golf, or NFL, he was consistently 2 plays behind the highlights. Say what you want about Hill, he has been in the #2 market in the country for at least 40 years. I blame the combo of age and trying to read a prompter that's next to a slot machine.

Hill and Duran have absolutely nothing interesting to say about anything. Its like they choose their phrases from a grab bag of cliches like "The Rams are off to a great start" or "The Chargers have to feel good in the locker room, even though they lost". Its like they just pull the talking points out of any of the past 10 years shows.

It ends about 45 minutes later, and not one person in So Cal has learned anything about sports today.

For NY/NJsj.com ... were there any plans considered for MetLife to be a domed/retractable roof stadium instead of what was built?

The Jets were pushing for a domed stadium on the West Side Highway in NYC in the late 90s/early 2000s, with the idea that New York would also host a Summer Olympics.

The Giants really weren't pushing for anything, and if anything, I think they kinda wanted having a stadium with the windy elements as a home field advantage.

Jets: We want our own stadium or else!
    NY:
    Jets: We mean it!
    NY:
Jets: Sooooo, it's been a while since we talked, Giants

How is it that Tyrod Taylor still has a STARTING gig and Kaepernick is out of the league?

Tyrod Taylor is not the one you should be doing this with.

    Thank you.

There are any number of terrible QBs drawing absurd paychecks right now. Tyrod Taylor is not one of them. He's not headed to the Hall of Fame but he's a perfectly decent QB. I'm an unabashed Justin Herbert fanboy and I totally understood starting the season with Taylor as the starter.

By the way, the Buffalo QB situation over the past few years -- Taylor moving forward -- is a wonderful illustration of just how totally screwed up the NFL remains on issues of QBs and race. Taylor was playing well and had the Bills in a playoff position when they benched him for Nathan Peterman.

Has there ever been a better advertiser - stadium match than Allegiant and the Raiders strip mall parking lot blob? Both are so uninspiring.
