Good guess because he may have the lowest ypc For a player with 1,000 yards in a season with 3.1, but he actually ended up with 4.0 for his career.

however, this guy was an 80s running back.

    John Riggins?
He was a beast with the Redskins, but he always seemed like a "grind out three yards" kind of guy.

good guess as well, but he was fairly speedy early in his career and actually got 4.6 one year.

Yeah, I looked up his stats after guessing him. My instincts weren't wrong -- he was under 4.0 for all of what I think of as his prime years with the Redskins, from 1981-84 -- but he was well over 4.0 for most of the early part of his career.

Winder is more likely. A two-time Pro Bowler with only one 1,000-yard season is probably someone with some ability as a receiver.

Alstott is close. He managed one season over 4.0.

It is Sammy Winder, who spent five years as the Broncos feature back and then one more as the starting fullback. Best average was 3.9.

Riggins was a state champion in the 60 and 100 meters in high school. He could run.

Who was pitching for the Senators on Sept. 30, 1971, when in their final home game the fans rushed the field with two outs in the top of the ninth, leading them to forfeit a game they led 7-5 and probably would have won?
