Laura was probably the last one picked for playground games. Every. Single. Time.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was built as an automotive proving ground in 1909, and 111 years later it's going to be a Covid-mass-gathering proving ground. As an Indy resident I'll be avoiding it (get to watch it live on TV for a change!) and just hoping it goes off without trouble, not that we'll really know for a few weeks or months. But Speedway officials are now getting defiant about it; an IndyStar reporter last week asked IU Health (the state's largest hospital/medical system) for a thought about whether this all should be happening and the answer was "no," the Speedway responded by calling that stance "immature."

    "Immature"?
That's like describing tales of the Loch Ness Monster as "orange."

On July 1, the Trumpist governor of Arkansas said his state would have to make progress against the Trumpandemic if it wanted to see HS football.
Let's see how they did in July. Doesn't look like progress to me. Yet they're gonna play. Same number of games. No real changes.

Do NOT get me started on Asa! and his kindly grandpa act. If Steu Walton says jump, Asa! is doing stretches.

(Fun fact: His daughter was at Greers Ferry Lake partying - maskless and with strangers - this weekend.)

Switching between the NHL and NBA
NBA has done a better job of spacing out the players
Don’t understand why NHL is keeping players tight on the benches
They should have put teams on opposite sides for this
Should refs and officials wear masks?

Been a little surprised watching the NHL too. No restraint on celebrations either. All that on top of being a contact sport. They keep it out of the bubbles I'm guessing they'll be OK, but still.

Of course, when literally everyone who is on the ice has been locked away in a hotel for the last couple of weeks, you don't need to worry about distancing as much.

I think the fact the NHL is in Canada, where things are really under control, and there have been zero positive tests, I'm not saying there's complacency, but it seems there's a better handle on this. Plus, I get the sense NHL players aren't running out to Magic City (NBA) or casinos and night clubs (MLB) and acting like idiots. They are taking it seriously.
