President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

If there are debates this year, they will be in the original Kennedy-Nixon format. Done in empty TV studios. No audiences, no "town hall" format. Just the protagonists and a moderator, plus camera personnel, director, etc. in the control room. No pandemic way to do it otherwise. This would by itself cut down on the gimmickry Drew doesn't like. It'd also be tough on Biden, who likes human contact, and even tougher on Trump, who needs an audience more than he needs oxygen.

 

Trump under the microscope for two hours, without a crowd to bail him out, would be amazing to watch. Biden might say something stupid and he could still win by TKO in the first 30 minutes.

 

Biden is a good one-on-one debater. Beat Palin (soundly) and beat Ryan, which helped pull his boss - who was crushed in the first debate with Romney - out of his funk.

The Biden-Palin debate was the fourth-most-watched debate in American history.

On the flip side of the coin, Trump lost 3 debates to Clinton. Flat-out lost them. It should have cost him the election and would have, if not for James Comey and a crime bill her husband authored 22 years prior to the 2016 election.

 

Yes but that was before he was locked in a basement battling dementia.

So first, margin of error makes a 1-point margin useless
Second, Georgia will not remain as a margin of error toss up by November
But...
Trump is going to have to spend money to keep Georgia out of play for the Democrats and that's money that won't go to, say, Florida.

 

Fun fact: The active ingredient in blood thinners, warfarin, is also the active ingredient in rat poison. It kills rats by making them bleed out internally. We found this out the hard way when our previous dog got into some rat poison our landlord had put down. He survived, but it was touch and go for a while.

Yeah, and I guess you approved of the Senate majority abdicating their sworn oath to uphold the Constitution and do their f**king job by NOT giving the Merrick Garland a confirmation hearing.

How about we get rid of just:

Lying?
Saying "NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY"
fostering White Supremacy and Racist dialogue?
some coherent Federal response to the worst pandemic to hit the US in a 100 years?


Oh wait, you don't care about racism because you've never been on the receiving end.

Lastly, its easier to say "nothing's going to change" rather than actual try and come up with a productive act or suggestion.

 

Any other elected official would be finished because of this.
