Sorry, but no. That's just more of your usual bullshit. A candidate can absolutely refuse to accept that sort of help. We just know that President Trump will not only accept it, he will have his minions seek it out.

Your implication that Biden can't go off script just because the smart thing for him to do right now is to stay on script is just more of the same idiocy from you.

The man who hid in the bunker during the protests in front of the White House and is building a wall around the building is complaining about Biden's basement? I don't know how he looks at himself in the mirror every morning.

I don't know if this is bs to make an announcement seem more "sudden and exciting" but this article says some of the leading candidates still haven't had an in-person interview with Biden and he's pushed the announcement back a week. What the hell has he been doing?
Joe Lockhart said the Veep choice doesn't so much matter as to whomever is chosen, but it does matter that the campaign does a thorough job vetting and they have a solid roll-out.
Say what you want about Palin's bonafides, McCain's announcement - coming about 12 hours after Obama left the stage in Denver really did a nice job of minimizing the Obama bump. Of course, McCain announcing he would leave the campaign to focus on the economic meltdown when there was little he had any authority to do, Palin going rogue, flubbing her Couric interview and then becoming a pending grandma was a sign of a campaign that didn't have all shit together.
I expect Biden to name a known quantity.

No, the presidency certainly doesn’t come with a script. Which has been painfully obvious the last four years.

Campaigning is scripted for the most part. Being president and campaigning to be president are entirely different things.
