    The only time in recent history this has matter was Palin. McCain was 72 going into that election and people viewed his choice for VP as a potential replacement/successor. When it turned out to be her and all the misteps that she took leading into the election, it turned into an issue. In hindsight, Romney or Pawlenty would have been bland, VP choices and maybe it doesn't matter because it was a blowout anyway and the closest states were Florida, Indiana, North Carolina and Ohio and even if you flip all of four of those, Obama still wins 292-244.

    The economic meltdown under a Republican president happened in October. Throw in Obama and that was that. It's rare the same party wins three straight presidential elections -- once in 72 years.

    On Jan. 20, 2021, I want President Biden to appoint Jeff Sessions as special counsel to investigate the Trump administration. GOP will try to gaslight him like they did with Mueller, but it won't work.
